mintabox.com is a participatory, generative web-project exploring information storage in the information age. The project began out of a desire to make my oil paintings of boxes interactive. The resulting website features an ever-changing configuration of digital boxes containing user-submitted (humans and robots) text and/or photographs, and was created through the use of php, css, html, javascript, digital photography, oil painting from direct observation and from digital photographs, and image manipulations through controlled and random computer processes.
The site has been exhibited in a few different configurations, from a computer in the gallery, a book and a time lapse video. An interest in intermedia processes informs both the content and presentation of this work and related works.
